Winter’s Journey Feb 13 & 15 Winter’s Journey (Winterreise) traces the poetic journey of one man from lost love into the mystifying, isolating cold of winter. In 1993, the visionary conductor-composer Hans Zender reimagined Franz Schubert’s 1827 song cycle for tenor and 24-member chamber orchestra, creating his own striking work, Schubert’s ‘Winterreise’. Joined by champion of contemporary work and art song, Neal Long, Kansas City Sinfonietta is thrilled to present this production.

Long Time Since Yesterday

March 12 - 21 Set in suburban New Jersey in the early 1980's, this potent drama is about a reunion of former college classmates, now in their thirties, at the funeral of a friend who killed herself. These professional Black women are forced to confront the truths about their own lives and the tragic event that brought them back together, all while navigating the challenges of being Black women.

Bring Me A Dream

March 26 & 27 An original dance production that delves into the rich, symbolic world of dreaming. This work will explore the archetypes and emotional landscapes that recur in our sleep—moments that haunt us, liberate us, or awaken something deep within. Visually evocative and emotionally resonant, this production is both a personal and collective exploration of what it means to dream.

The Art & Spokenword: Kansas City April 10 & 11 The Art & Spokenword: Kansas City is an immersive evening dedicated entirely to the power of language and the beauty of visual art. This event brings together poets, storytellers, and visual creators for a night that celebrates authenticity, vulnerability, and the artistic heartbeat of the city.

Pippin: In Concert

April 17 - 19 This tells the story of young Prince Pippin who has issues with his father the King – typical teenage stuff -- and sets off on a journey of self-discovery. This charming show is packed with great music, big heart, and a whole lot of sparkle!
